Fairs, Shows, and Sales
There's plenty of art and art fairs in Ann Arbor those other 361 days a year. A busy museum and gallery circuit provides many openings and shows to choose from. Each month you'll find antique shows, charity sales, and community festivals.

8 Friday
August, 2008

Free! 5-11 p.m.
Summerfest: Saline Area Chamber of Commerce. August 8 & 9. This downtown festival features a large craft show, lots of live music, kids' activities, contests, a beer and wine tent, a car show, carnival treats, and more. Downtown Saline. Free admission. 429-7429.


Free! 7-10 p.m.
Crossroads Summer Festival. Every Friday, June 6-September 12. Weekly outdoor stage in downtown Ypsilanti with a variety of dance bands. (In case of rain, held in Club Devine, 25 North Washington.) Weekly schedules available at ypsicrossroads.org. Washington St. at Michigan Ave. Free. 717-7305.

Free! 8 a.m.-about 7 p.m. (races & games begin around 3 p.m. and last until 6 p.m.).
Horse Show: Spur of the Moment Club. A judged amateur riding event for kids and adults, including English, western, and halter riding styles. Also, fun games like barrel racing. Lunch available for purchase. Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, 5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. Free admission. 699-6671.


11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sunday Artisan Market. Every Sunday. Show and sale of fine crafts, jewelry, soaps, furniture, fiber arts, and gift items. Also, live music TBA. Farmers' Market. Free admission. 665-2009.
