Most sporting events come from the busy U-M athletic calendar. Big-10 football brings in 100,000+ fans six Saturdays each fall, and the U-M basketball and hockey teams have loyal followings.

Team USA: USA Hockey National Team Development Program.

Dec. 11-13, 19, & 20. This Ann Arbor-based program features 46 of the best 16- and 17-year-old American ice hockey players under the guidance of U.S. National coach Jeff Jackson. The program fields 2 teams - the Under-17 Team and the Under-18 Team - that play full schedules, September-March, against teams from the top American junior leagues (players ages 18-21), American college teams, and comparable European national teams. Today: Team USA Under-18 vs. SUNY-Fredonia. Ann Arbor Ice Cube, 2121 Oak Valley Dr. at Scio Church Rd. $6 (seniors, students, & children, $6; kids under 5, free). 327-9251.
