Spectator Sports

Most sporting events come from the busy U-M athletic calendar. Big-10 football brings in 100,000+ fans six Saturdays each fall, and the U-M basketball and hockey teams have loyal followings.

Team USA: USA Hockey National Team Development Program.

Jan. 11, 18-20, & 25. This Ann Arbor-based program features 46 of the best 16- and 17-year-old American ice hockey players. The program fields 2 teams - the Under-17 Team and the Under-18 Team - that play full schedules against teams from the top American junior leagues (players ages 18-21), college teams, and comparable European national teams. Today: Team USA Under-18 vs. Mahoning Valley (Boardman, Ohio) Phantoms of the North American Hockey League.
