A Christmas Wonderland where you can shop for gifts at year end bargain prices that you just can�t find at the malls, take in a heartwarming Charles Dickens Style play, see funny skits or listen to Christmas Carolers singing through out the event. �A Boychoir Christmas�: Boychoir of Ann Arbor.

Dec. 14 & 15 (different locations).Boychoir founder Tom Strode directs this local ensemble of boys ages 9-17 in its 26th annual Christmas concert. The program opens with the processional �Once in royal David�s city,� with the 1st verse sung by a solo boy, and concludes with John Gardner�s �Tomorrow shall be my dancing day.� The program includes a series of settings of several early English poems and carols that begins with the moving Gregorian chant �Hodie Christus natus est� and concludes with the joyous �Deo Gracias� in its original setting for treble boy� choir and harp. A performance of Colin Brumby�s �Jesu, son most sweet and dear by the older boys tenor and brass ensemble also features harp accompaniment. Also, Britten�s beloved A Ceremony of Carols and a variety of both traditional and new carols ranging from the �Gloria� from Charpentier�s Christmas Midnight Mass and Renaissance composer Tomas Luis de Victoria�s famous setting of �O magnum mysterium� to a novel setting of the Yoruba carol �Irapada� and Malcolm Archer�s new carol �When Christ was born of Mary free.� Audience sing-alongs of �Hark! The herald angels sing� and �O come, all ye faithful� are kicked off with a soaring Boychoir descant verse. This popular annual concert usually draws a full house, so get your tickets in advance.

Every Thurs.-Sun., Nov. 15-Dec. 30. Phil Simmons directs this sophisticated Tony Award-winning 1973 musical comedy, adapted from Ingmar Bergman�s romantic Smiles of a Summer Night. The story concerns 3 mismatched couples, each of whom finally ends up with the right partner as they discover their true desires during a weekend together in the country. Stephen Sondheim�s memorable and enchanting waltz-filled score includes �Send In the Clowns,� �A Weekend in the Country,� �Later,� and other favorites.
