The Ark:
Open Stage
All acoustic performers invited. Fifteen acts are selected randomly from those who sign up to perform 8 minutes (or 2 songs) each. The most talented and popular Open Stage performers are offered their own evenings at the Ark. $3 (members & students, $2). 7:30-10 p.m.
The Blind Pig:
Todd Deatherage
Local country-rock singer-songwriter originally from Dallas whom the Village Voice dubbed a "honky-tonk Elliott Smith." Opening act is American Mars, a classy Detroit Americana quartet . May 8: Northwick. Local quartet that plays rock, classic rock, and blues-rock. Opening act is The Setup, a local pop-rock quartet.
The Earle:
Rick Burgess. Solo pianist.
Elbow Room:
Park Ranger
New York City rock 'n' soul trio. Opening acts are a Dayton indie rock trio, and Oneironauts, a Michigan ambient rock band.
The Firefly Club:
"Nightowl." Late-night shows with The Sugar People, a local experimental multimedia pop-soul funk band, and performers TBA the rest of the month. 11 p.m.-1:30 a.m.

Paul Keller Ensemble
High-energy mainstream jazz by this ensemble led by bassist Keller that features 3 horns. 8-10:30 p.m.
Goodnite Gracie:
Laith Al-Saadi
An eclectic mix of jazz, blues, R&B, Motown, and pop, including many originals, by a trio led by this local singer-guitarist.
TC's Speakeasy:
"She Bang!"
Ladies night with 1980s & 1990s pop dance hits with DJ B Girrrl. May 9: The View. Ypsilanti rock quartet fronted by singer-songwriter B. J. Walraven. Opening acts are Note to Self, a local indie folk-rock trio, and Patchwork Paradise, a young local alternative rock band.
