Acoustic pop-folk band led by this local singer-songwriter who has a highly regarded new CD Hello Friend (from Bird Above).
The Earle:
Rick Burgess Trio
Jazz ensemble featuring pianist Burgess, drummer Robert Warren, and bassist Russel Tessier.
Elbow Room:
Misty Lyn & the Big Beautiful
Local country-pop band led by singer-songwriter Lyn. Opening acts are Empty Orchestra, the stage name of the Flint experimental country singer-songwriter Stephen Wisniewski, and Elle & the Fonts, the stage name of Elle Sawa, a Ferndale emo singer-songwriter who bills herself as "a horrible guitar player [who] likes to think she makes up for it through her exceptionally amusing stage presence and vocal performances." Also, That's Him, That's the Guy, an acoustic folk-rock duo from Ferndale.
The Firefly Club:
Marcin Wasilewski Trio
Ann Arbor debut of this heralded Polish jazz trio led by composer-pianist Wasilewski that is most widely known through its years as trumpeter Tomasz Stanko's touring band. Advance tickets: $12. 9 & 11 p.m.

Local 9-piece ensemble that plays a mix of Afrobeat with Sun Ra- and Coltrane-influenced jazz. The band recently released its Ubiquity Records debut, New Tones. Opening act is Matt Nisbett, a local alt-country singer-songwriter. 7:30 p.m.-1 a.m.
