The Blind Pig: Darrin James Band

Brooklyn (NY) blues-inflected folk-rock quartet. Opening acts are the experimental jazz quintet Dan Bennett’s Dream Work, the talented local singer-songwriter Chris Bathgate, and Balkan-flavored originals by I’m (the stage bane of singer-songwriter singer-songwriter Dan Schmieding. [venue info]

Conor O'Neill's: The Detroit Three

Ferndale trio that plays rock and folk-rock covers from the 70s- 90s, along with some originals. [venue info]

Crazy Wisdom Tea Room: Barefoot Sneaker Slaves

Local experimental electronica duo. [venue info]

Elbow Room: Open Mike

The Habitat Ultralounge: JoyRide

The Jolly Pumpkin: Open Mike

All acoustic musicians and vocalists invited. Hosted by local singer- songwriter Zachariah Griffin. 9:15 p.m. until everyone who signed up has a chance to perform. [venue info]

Live at PJ's: Laith Al-Saadi Trio

An eclectic mix of jazz, blues, R&B, Motown, and pop, including many originals, by a trio led by this local singer-guitarist. [venue info]

The Savoy: Matt Jones & the Reconstruction

Local pop-folk band led by Jones, a singer-songwriter with a new CD, The Black Path, that Metro Times reviewer Doug Coombe calls “a beautifully produced and arranged folk- chamber pop record that shares a lot in common with Ann Arbor compatriots Chris Bathgate and the Great Lakes Myth Society.” Opening acts are Jeni Lee Richey & the Great Tribulation, a local folk noir and neo-honky-tonk ensemble led by singer-songwriter Richey, and The High Strung, a Brooklyn (MI) trio that plays dark, crafty pop with psychedelic overtones. 8-11 p.m [venue info]

Tap Room: Electric Open Mike

Hosted by The Martindales, a local band led by singer- guitarist Brian Brickley that plays blues and rock covers and originals. All electric musicians invited. [venue info]

Vinology: Gary Schunk

Jazz ensemble led by Schunk, a a classically trained Detroit jazz pianist and keyboardist. One of 10 winners in Jazziz magazine’s 1995 “Keyboards on Fire” contest, he plays with an energetic, electric verve. [venue info]
