The Ann Arbor Public Schools provide services to students with disabilities, including regular class placements with special assistance. Full-day programs in specialized classrooms for students with less common disabilities--such as moderate to severe cognitive impairments as well as emotional, visual, and hearing impairments--are offered at select schools. Those with special needs are served from birth through age 26. (Help with vision and hearing impairments is provided for all ages.)

Refers children from birth through 36 months with developmental delays or other medical problems to Early On coordinators in local school districts, the county public health department, and other agencies. Just Us Club, High Point School, 1735 S. Wagner. 994-8111, ext. 1699. Licensed program organized by parents provides year-round after-school care and activities for children with special needs, ages 2-26. $6.50/hour & up. justusclub.org
Project Find Michigan. (800) 252-0052. Conducts public awareness and referral programs to locate and assist people with disabilities (birth to age 26) who may be eligible for special educational services. projectfindmichigan.org
Washtenaw Intermediate School District (WISD), 1819 S. Wagner. 994-8100. Operates special education programs for children from birth to age 26 at various locations including High Point School (1735 S. Wagner, 994-8111, 33, B6), which serves county residents with severe disabilities from birth to age 26. wash.k12.mi.us
