Part-Time and Co-op Child Care and Preschool Programs

CHILD CARE KEY

The child care centers listed accommodate 13 or more children and are licensed by the Michigan Department of Human Services. The list also includes in-house centers for organizations with staffs of 1,000 or more.

Child care centers are open year round unless otherwise indicated. Most take applications at any time. Centers that include preschool programs or kindergarten often enroll annually for the school year. Call the centers for registration information.

In addition to the centers listed, Ann Arbor has 86 active, licensed day care family homes and group homes, (family homes care for 6 or fewer children; group homes provide care for up to 12 children). Contact the Child Care Network (see link below) for information.

V indicates that the center offers before- and/or after-school care for elementary students (some also provide transportation—call to ask). B.A. indicates that all teachers hold at least a bachelor’s degree in child development or a related field. Drop-In indicates that drop-in child care is available. NAEYC indicates the center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. TT indicates that children must be toilet trained. Many centers also have food allergy awareness programs. Contact the provider to ask about policies
