Every day, May 1–June 21. Three pianos painted by U-M students are available at different locations throughout Ann Arbor for anyone to play an impromptu concert. On May 1, world-renowned local boogie-woogie & blues pianist Mark “Mr. B” Braun plays a concert at each of the 3 locations. Also, scheduled concerts by local pianists TBA every Wednesday and Saturday (see a2sf.org). The project culminates with a grand finale piano trio performance on June 21 at Top of the Park. Scheduled concerts begin at noon, Ann Arbor Farmers Market; 2:30 p.m., Michigan Theater; 5 p.m., U-M Shapiro Undergrad Library, 919 South University. Free. (734) 994–5999.

Online anytime May 6 (8 p.m.) through May 12 (10 p.m.): “Here Lived” (Jane Wells, 2023). Poignant documentary about the work of German conceptual artist Gunter Demnig, best known for creating Stolpersteine (“stumbling stones”)—concrete blocks capped with brass plates, each honoring a single Nazi victim, installed in sidewalks in the areas where they once lived. “Rabbi on the Block” (Brad Rothschild, 2023). Documentary about Tamar Manasseh, a Black rabbi from Southside Chicago who works to build alliances between the Jewish and Black communities. “999: The Forgotten Girls” (Heather Dune Macadam, 2024). Documentary about a handful of Jewish girls who survived over 3 years in Nazi death camps. “Resistance: They Fought Back” (Paula S. Apsell & Kirk Wolfinger, 2024). Documentary about violent and nonviolent Jewish resistance to Nazi occupation in WWII. “Without Precedent: The Supreme Life of Rosalie Abella” (Barry Avrich, 2024). Documentary about Canada’s first Jewish supreme court judge.
